I have selected a lofted club with plenty of bounce for this shot (ie sand wedge)
To extract the ball from the thick rough, a steeper angle of approach is required. To help me achieve this I have distributed approximately 70% of my weight over my left side.
I have moved my ball position slightly closer to my right side as this will help me strike down on the ball
Backswing
I have set my wrists early in the backswing. This can help to steepen the angle of approach to esnure I strike down close to the back of the ball. It can also be useful to create additional club head speed at the bottom of the swing arc, helping the club to accelerate through impact.
I have maintained the 70% of weight over my left side.
Impact
Through impact I try to hold the angle created by the early wrist hinge. This ensures the club works steeply downwards towards the ball. However this will mean I deliver less dynamic loft than I normally would (hense the use of a more lofted club)
I have increased the amount of pressure to 80% over my lift side to ensure my weight is moving through the ball. This is key to maintaining club head speed through impact
Finish
My body has fully rotated through impact with my chest hips facing the target. This is a clear indication I have maintained club head speed through impact which will help me achieve a solid strike on the ball.
